Chester morphed back into a human and opened the door. He looked at Jayden and sank to the ground next to him.

Jayden looked over at him, wanting to lean into him, but also wanting to give both of them some space.

Chester sighed. ‘I’m sorry, love,’ he said quietly. ‘I-I was just overthinking. I’m sorry for worrying you.’

"It's fine." Jayden said as he wiped his eyes, standing up.

Chester’s face fell. He got up as well. ‘Y-You did nothing wrong, I promise.’

"You didn't either." Jayd mumbled, looking down.

Chester slowly grabbed his hand and kissed the back of it. ‘I love you.’

"I love you too." Jayden gave a small smile.

Chester smiled back, glad he’d made it better. For now, at least. ‘C’mon, let’s go to dinner.’

Jayden nodded, walking forward.

Chester followed.

Jayden opened the door to the kitchen for him.

Chester walked inside, interlacing their fingers.

Jayd let him, grinning.

Chester smiled back. He sat down, kissing the side of his head.
