‘That’s good. We’ve only just started with treatment,’ Amelia’s mother said, nudging Amelia.

"it gets easier." Eden looked at Amelia. she looked around their age, she felt bad that she had to go through this.

‘Hopefully soon,’ Amelia’s mother nodded.

Eden wondered about Amelia. "yeah"

Amelia’s mother pat her daughter’s head and walked to the door. ‘I’m going to go downstairs and look for some food. If a nurse comes in, tell them I’ll be back in a bit,’ she said to Amelia, then left.

Eden stiffened, not sure what to say.

Amelia fidgeted with her hands, staying quiet too.

she fidgeted with her hands, then very quietly said. "hi" unsure if Amelia could hear, they grew embarrassed. -
‘Hi,’ Amelia mumbled, bringing her legs up to her chest.

"um..." They fiddled with their hands, they felt bad for just coming in.

Amelia turned around and looked at her.

Eden felt embarrassed.

Amelia exhaled. ‘Well, uh, how are you?’

"I'm ok, what about you?"

‘I’m fine,’ Amelia mumbled.
