James watched him, fascinated. He’d never seen a vampire in real life before. ‘So, was Dracula real?’

Ed chuckled softly, nodding. "I suppose so, yes- never met the guy myself, but I think so," he said, glancing over at James.

‘Right. How often do you eat humans?’ James asked.

"Eh, a few a week, give or take- kidding! I'm kidding, I promise," Ed said with a chuckle, holding up his hands in innocence. "I don't eat humans, I promise~"

James chuckled nervously. ‘Don’t you need to drink human blood to survive? Or is that a myth?’

"No- like I said before, I drink animal's blood," Ed explained, leaning against the counter. "It's not exactly the same, but it substitutes pretty well."

‘Right. Can you eat human food? Or is that not enough to keep you healthy?’

"I can, yes," Ed replied, nodding. "I think the blood drinking is kind of separate? It's like, a different type of hunger, I think."

‘Interesting,’ James nodded, pretending that made sense to him.

"Yeah, it's probably not the most simple thing to understand, but it's not like I understand it much, either," Ed said, chuckling softly.

James chuckled. ‘Fair enough.’

Ed watched James for a moment, smiling a little. "What- what year did you say it was again?" He asked, turning back and staring at the cans on the counter.

‘1950,’ James said, watching him with fascination.

"1950," Ed repeated in a whisper, crossing his arms over his chest. "It really has been ages, hasn't it?"

‘When did you fall asleep?’ James asked, frowning. ‘Like, what year?’
