Evan giggled quietly, leaning against Connor a little.

“Ugh, I really do want a cat, but I’m broke as f---,” Connor jokingly whined, chuckling softly.

“Yeah, real,” Evan said with a chuckle, nodding.

“Plus, my mom’s pissed at me, so I wouldn’t be able to get a cat anyways-“

“Whys she pissed at you?” Evan asked, tilting his head a little and petting the cat on his lap again.

“I-“ Connor exhaled softly, looking down at the cat in Evan’s lap. “I got suspended from school, I uh, got into a fight with some kid-“

Evan furrowed his brows, stunned for a moment. “Woah- okay, lore just dropped. Why didn’t you say? When are you going back?”

“I think I go back in a week or so- And like, getting suspended for attacking a kid isn’t really something you tell a guy when you first meet him?” Connor replied, an awkward look on his face.

“I know- but that’s pretty mysterious, honestly,” Evan said with a shrug.

“Sorry, I- I just, don’t really like to talk about it,” Connor murmured, pulling his arm away from Evan and hugging his legs to his chest. “Not something I’m proud of, y’know-“

“Oh, yeah, I’m sorry, I’m being insensitive,” Evan said softly, turning his head to Connor. “That makes sense, dude-“

“No, you’re good,” Connor said, chuckling softly. He exhaled softly, rubbing the side of his face with his hand. “I probably should’ve told you sooner, though.”

“Eh- I kinda get it, I guess,” Evan shrugged a little, turning his head back.

Connor exhaled shakily, staring at the floor. “I don’t know how you could like me- or even trust me, since I don’t tell you stuff-“

Evan shrugged. “I dunno either, I just do. I’m also- being blind kinda makes you trust everyone. Whether you like them or not-“
