“It’s fine,” Evan said softly, chewing on his lip.
-
Connor glanced over at Evan, exhaling softly before looking away. They soon arrived at Evan's house and Connor led him to the front door, opening it for him.
-
Evan walked inside, letting go of Connor’s hand and heading carefully towards the stairs. “You guys are back early-“ Evan’s dad called from the kitchen.
-
"Yeah, the place was busy so we decided to go another day," Connor said, not really wanting to retell the situation that just unfolded to Evan's father.
-
“Aw, okay,” He said with an understanding smile. “Do you guys want something to eat, then?” “No,” Evan answered in a monotone voice, heading up the stairs.
-
Connor exhaled softly, giving Evan's father an apologetic look before following Evan upstairs.
-
Evan’s dad gave Connor a sympathetic smile back, sighing as he headed back into the kitchen.
-
Connor followed Evan into his room and shut the door, watching the brunette. "You okay, Evan?" He asked gently.
-
“Why is food the only f---ing thing people talk about-“ Evan said quietly, sitting down at his desk chair.
-
"I mean- You do hardly eat, at least from what I've seen," Connor spoke softly, moving to sit on the edge of Evan's bed.
-
“That’s not true,” Evan muttered, crossing his arms.
-
"When I made you breakfast that one time, you barely touched your plate," Connor said, watching Evan.
-
“Well- I wasn’t feeling well,” Evan muttered, curling his legs into his chest.
-
"And earlier? At the cafe?" Connor asked, crossing his arms over his chest. "You kind of blew up on me because you didn't want to eat- Is- Is something going on, Evan?"
-
“What? No- There’s nothing going on, the f---?” Evan said, trying to act angry to hide his distress.
