“You should be~” Evan teased, giggling quietly.

"No, like, I- I'm really glad to hear that," Connor murmured, clinging to Evan. "I- I feel like I scare people off, sometimes? I mean, I've never really been the- the friendliest person ever-"

“Well, you really tried to be the friendliest person ever with me, so,” Evan said, chuckling quietly.

"I know, because I'm trying to change- I'm trying to not be so- so angry towards people," Connor mumbled, sighing softly. "I'm so sick of feeling like this, honestly-"

“Well- I think you’re doing a good job,” Evan said softly, hesitantly rubbing Connor’s back.

Connor shivered a little from Evan's touch but quickly relaxed, a small smile growing on his face. "Thanks," he murmured softly, kissing the top of his head.

“Of course,” Evan said softly, exhaling quietly.

Connor hugged Evan closer, running a hand through his hair as he hummed softly.

Evan’s eyes started to drift closed, sucking in a breath and forcing them open again. “If you keep humming I’m gonna fall asleep again- please stop-“

"Well, aren't you tired?" Connor asked, chuckling softly as he held Evan close. "I mean, I'll stop if you really want me to, but are you sure you don't want to try and get some more sleep?"

“I don’t wanna have another nightmare,” Evan said quietly, sighing.

Connor exhaled softly, nodding. "I know- I hate nightmares, too," he spoke quietly, holding Evan close. "But, I think you should try and get some sleep. I'll be right here if you need me, though, making sure you're okay, alright?"

Evan thought for a moment, exhaling quietly. “…Fine. But please don’t leave-“

"I'm not going anywhere, okay?" Connor said with a smile, kissing Evan's head and holding him close.

“Okay,” Evan whispered fearfully, hiding his face in the crook of Connor’s neck.
