“How did you know the chefs name?” Clay’s mother asked, furrowing his brows.
-
“Oh- I uh, just overheard one of the servants mention it,” Clay spoke quickly, inhaling sharply.
-
The queen furrowed her brows, taking another bite of his food. “Okay…”
-
Clay exhaled shakily, glad that she sounded convinced, even if it was only temporary. He dug into his food, smiling a little at the taste. God, he really is a good cook- I’ll have to thank him later~
-
(ts maybe to later?)
-
(yeah u^u)
Clay exhaled softly as he rubbed his sweat-dripping face with the sleeve of his shirt, walking into the kitchen and spotting George. “Hey, George~” He said, smiling at the brunette as he walked over to a chair. He slumped down in it, catching his breath. “f---, I’m exhausted-“ -
“Hi- what have you been doing?” George asked, furrowing his brows as he cleaned dishes.
-
“Training, practices and classes, that’s what,” Clay replied with a tired chuckle. “Boxing, sword-fighting, fencing, track- you name it.”
-
“Oh,” George nodded, setting a plate out to dry and grabbing a pot to clean, some things tumbling in the sink and making a large noise. “Are you forced to do it?”
-
“Kinda? I mean, I enjoy it and all, but it- gets overwhelming, I guess,” Clay said, sighing a little. He ran a hand through his hair, exhaling softly. “Not like I can really ask for a break, though.”
-
“Why not?” George asked, focusing on cleaning the pot.
-
“You think anyone has the balls to go against the Queen’s wishes?” Clay said, deadpanning. He sighed, leaning back in the chair. “And not only is she the Queen, but she’s my mom- I can’t just go against her wishes or ask her to change things just for me? She’d be pissed…”
-
"Oh, that makes more sense," George nodded, grabbing a different sponge to scrape the bottom of the pot. "Do you think you'll keep it up when you become king?"
-
“I mean, hopefully not to the same extent as now,” Clay replied, rubbing the side of his face with his hand. His stomach growled and he flushed red, an embarrassed chuckle escaping his lips. “You uh, wouldn’t happen to be able to make me another sandwich, would you~?” He half-joked, chuckling softly.
-
"No, yeah, I can," George nodded, finishing cleaning the pot and washing his hands. So he's only coming to get something to eat- But he showed up this morning to wash dishes? What is up with him-
