“Oh, uh, yes,” George said, moving over towards the door, where stone pitchers of liquids were rested. “Just- just water?”
-
“Yes, that’s perfectly fine-“ “Ooh, I want some tea- Please,” Sam interjected, looking up from her food.
-
“Hot or iced?” George asked politely as he walked over with the water pitcher. He leaned over in between Sam and Clay, filling up his cup.
-
“Iced,” Sam replied, nodding. “Thanks, George~” Clay said with a smile, winking subtly at the brunette before taking a sip of his water.
-
“You’re welcome,” George said quietly, quickly moving back to hide how bright red he was. He placed the water pitcher down, grabbing the one with iced tea in it and moving back to pour it in Sam’s cup.
-
Sam glared at Clay for a moment, watching the dirty blonde staring at the chef. Clay caught her gaze and blushed a little with embarrassment, looking back down at his food. Sam giggled softly, going back to eating. “Thank you, George,” she said politely, nodding to him.
-
“You welcome,” George said softly, bowing his head as he walked back to set the pitcher down. “Is this satisfactory, now?” He asked, clasping his hands behind him.
-
“Y-Yes, thank you,” Clay spoke softly, unable to come up with any other excuse to keep George around.
-
George bowed his head slightly in respect, exhaling softly as he walked out of the room. “Clay, have you written to any of your possible suitors, yet? The dance is in less than four months.”
(THEY SHOULD HAVE A DANCE WHERE HE PICKS HIS WIFE N ALL THE PRINCESSES N STUFF COME BUT GEORGE IS JUST KINDA THERE, LIKE, SERVING FOOD) -
“Ah, right,” Clay said with a sigh, an awkward look on his face. “Of- Of course I have, Mother-“ “I’m pretty sure that's a no from him,” Sam teased, giggling softly as she took a sip of her tea. Clay glared at his sister, taking a bite of his food.
(OOH YES YES WE SHOULD- >:DDD) -
A look a disappointment spread across the Queen’s face, sighing softly. “Clay, at this rate, your sister will get the throne before you find a wife-“ “That’s not how it works, dear,” the king cut in. “I know it’s not, that’s why I’m saying it! But if you can’t make these letters and get them to me in three days, I might have to send someone to watch you and make sure you do them.”
-
Clay opened his mouth to retort but quickly cut himself off, exhaling softly and staring down at his plate. “Fine. I’ll get them to you soon,” he muttered, taking a bite of his food. “Y’know, maybe I should take over the throne instead of Clay~” Sam teased, giggling softly.
-
“Sam, you know that’s not how it works now-a-days,” The king said gently, cutting a piece of his meat and eating it.
-
“Ugh- But that’s sooo lame, I’d be a much better queen than Clay would be king~” Sam joked, giggling softly. Clay rolled his eyes, taking another bite of his food.
-
“That’s enough,” The king said sternly, giving Sam a look.
