"Once I get you all patched up, you'll be good to go," the doctor replied, looking at the boys. Clay just nodded, keeping his gaze on George as he rubbed his boyfriend's hand with his thumb.
-
“Thank you for coming, on such short notice,” The king spoke politely by the door, watching the two with a sympathetic smile.
-
"Of course, it's my job, after all," the doctor replied with a small smile, nodding as she attended to George's cuts and patching him up. Clay exhaled shakily, keeping his gaze trained on George and watching him with a nervous look on his face.
-
George winced at any touch from the doctor, accidentally digging his nails into Clay’s forearm.
-
Clay gently rubbed George's hand with his own, watching him with a nervous gaze. "And, I think that's everything," the doctor said after she finished patching George up, typing something on her laptop. "If you want to stay and rest here for a while, you can, but you're free to go otherwise. I'll stay for a few days and give you checkups every once in a while, make sure nothing else comes up and no further injuries happen." Clay nodded, glancing up for a moment.
-
George nodded, moving to stand. “I’m gonna go to my room,” he said weakly.
-
Clay nodded and helped George to his feet, keeping an arm around him.
-
George staggered slightly as he stood, quickly steadying himself and heading for the door.
-
Clay followed George to the door, opening it for him and walking with him to his room.
-
George walked in the room, seeing it and immediately breaking down into tears.
-
"s---- Baby, are you okay?" Clay asked as he moved in front of George, gently resting his hands on his shoulders.
-
George shook his head, his whole body shaking with sobs. “I- I’m so scared- how long has it been? Only like- like- a day, right?”
-
"Not- not too long, only- only about a week-" Clay said, his own voice wavering and tears filling his eyes again as he watched George.
-
George’s entire expression fell. “I- I was gone a week?”
-
"Y-Yeah-" Clay replied shakily, a guilty look on his face. "God, I- I'm so sorry, I-I can't believe I l-let this happen t-to you..." He murmured, tears slowly rolling down his cheeks.
