Alex laughed, smiling at Nick. “I’m just playin’, relax~” He said with a chuckle, smirking playfully. “Maybe I could show you around town one day with my friends, if you’re free.”

“Hey, yeah, that’d be awesome,” Nick said with a chuckle, trying to will his face to cool down. “Uh- are they people from this neighborhood?”

“Yeah, a few of them,” Alex said, nodding. “They’re around your age, I think you’ll like them~”

“Oh, are they here?” Nick asked, glancing around the cul-de-sac. -
(XD you’re all good!)
“Yeah, over there,” Alex said, pointing to where Clay and Karl were standing and talking. “The tall ones chatting, that’s them~” -
Nick frowned a little bit, forcing himself to cover it up since he needed to meet new people. “Oh- okay, gotcha.”

“You wanna say hi now?” Alex asked, looking back at Nick with a smile. “They’re chill guys, I think you’ll like them~”

“Uh-“ Nick paused, forcing himself to smile and nod. “Yeah, sure, why not.”

Alex smiled and grabbed Nick by the arm, leading him over to the boys. Let’s see if we can get these two to make up~ He walked over to where Clay and Karl were standing, smiling. “Guys, meet my new best friend~”

“Hi,” Nick said awkwardly, glancing at Karl but focusing on Clay. “Hey, I’m Clay, nice to meet you,” Clay said with a smile, holding out his hand. “Nick,” The ravenette responded, shaking his hand.

Karl waved awkwardly at Nick, not sure of what to say. “Don’t be shy, Karlos, say hi~” Alex whispered to the brunette, nudging him forward a little. Karl glared at his friend before looking back at Nick, a nervous look on his face. “Hi-“

Nick made a very obviously forced smile, waving back at Karl. “So, Clay, what do you do for work?” He asked, turning back to the blonde. “I’m in marketing, I do social media stuff for a banking firm downtown.”

“Don’t flex too hard on him, Clay~” Alex teased with a chuckle, watching Karl look away. “C’mon, dude, you’ve gotta try harder than that,” he whispered to his friend, patting his back. Karl groaned softly, a nervous look on his face.

Nick and Clay laughed quietly, Clay shrugging. “I’m only telling the truth~” he said, giving Karl a look.

“I- I mean, it is an impressive job, so-“ Karl spoke nervously, watching Nick for his reaction.
