Nick jumped, setting his box down and running up to Karl. “Woah, you good?”
(good night 😩✋) -
(xD gn!)
“Yeah, I’m okay,” Karl replied, brushing himself off. “The stuff inside the box didn’t sound okay, though-“ He murmured, a worried expression on his face. -
(jk a few more responses lol)
“s----“ Nick muttered after inspecting the box further. He quickly opened it up, finding the shattered picture frame and staring inside the box blankly for a moment. -
(xD)
“Ooh, that’s not good-“ Karl murmured, exhaling shakily as he stared at the broken picture in it’s frame. “I- I’m so sorry-“ -
Nick stayed silent for a moment, staring into the box and trying to hold back tears. “Uh- it’s- it’s fine. I’ll just- i think I’ll finish unloading on my own. Thanks for helping, though.”
-
“Are- Are you sure?” Karl asked quietly, reaching a hand out to Nick before pulling his hand back. “I- I mean, I can still help if you need it-“
-
“No-“ Nick said harshly, cutting hinself off. “Karl, I think it’d be better if you just went home.”
-
“I- I said I was sorry, I didn’t mean to,” Karl found himself saying, a hint of anger in his voice. He wasn’t mad before but something just washed over him as he crossed his arms. “I mean, it’s- it’s just a picture frame, I can always pay you back-“
-
Nick glared at him for a moment, a look of disgust on his face. “You don’t know that- God, just- just leave-“
-
Karl scoffed, rolling his eyes. “Whatever- Don’t know why I even bothered coming over to help,” he muttered, turning and walking back to his house. God, what an a--hole! I mean, he’s a cute a--hole, but an a--hole nonetheless!!
-
Nick grabbed the box, bringing it into the house and falling to his knees once he set it down. He carefully took the picture out of the glass shards, hugging it to his chest as tears silently started to fall down his face. “s---, s--- s---! No!”
-
Karl glanced back as he watched Nick rush into his new house, guilt washing over him again. f---, I definitely was too harsh- The picture probably had sentimental value- s---, I’m the one being the a--hole, aren’t I?! He was tempted to go back over but still felt that anger inside, walking back in and shutting the door. I offered to pay for a replacement, and he shouted at me- he’s the one who should be apologizing…
-
Nick had to force himself to stand, his breathing still extremely uneven. He set the picture gently on another box with shaky hands and headed back outside to the truck since he still had to get it back.
-
Karl ignored the arguments coming from the living room and went up to his bedroom, walking in and shutting the door. He peeked out the window, watching as Nick got into the moving truck again. He groaned softly as he moved over to his bed, flopping down. Great first impression, Karl…
