Mason did the same, hopping out. ‘So we have the house to ourselves?’
-
“If my siblings aren’t home, then yes,” Chris said, chuckling softly. “Which means uninterrupted nap time!” He added with a laugh as he walked over to Mason, grabbing his hand and heading towards the house. He unlocked the door and led him inside, shutting it behind them and heading to his room.
-
Mason laughed and followed him, looking down at their hands. He smiled and looked back up at Chris.
-
Chris led him up to his room and opened the door, pulling Mason over to the bed. He flopped down beside his friend, sighing with content. “Aaaand, g’night,” he said with a chuckle, pretending to fall asleep on the spot.
-
Mason grinned and lay down next to him, snuggling up to his side. ‘Hey, no falling asleep on me~’
-
“But I’m tired~” Chris said with a chuckle, hesitantly wrapping an arm around Mason and curling closer to him. “Seriously, I almost passed out in English-“ He chuckled softly, resting his head on his friend’s shoulder.
-
Mason blushed, letting him. ‘English isn’t that boring,’ he chuckled, bringing his hand up and playing with Chris’s hair. ‘You napped, like, the entire time I was here yesterday.’
-
“Mm, but I like naps,” Chris murmured, yawning a little as he closer his eyes. “Plus, I like just having- having someone in the room with me,” he spoke quickly, changing his words mid-sentence. “I dunno, helps me sleep better, I guess?”
-
‘I get that,’ Mason chuckled, snuggling close. ‘Go to sleep.’
-
“You should try and get some sleep, too,” Chris said, lifting his head and looking at Mason, “might get your mind off things~”
-
‘Maybe,’ Mason said, kicking off his shoes and pulling the blankets over them.
-
Chris nodded and curled closer, resting his head on Mason’s chest. He missed when they used to do this when they were little, usually the two of the passed on the couch hugging each other after a long day of playing, but these last few times, it’s felt different. A good different, too. He smiled and let out a quiet yawn, rubbing his friend’s side with his thumb.
-
Mason blushed, wrapping his arms around Chris’s torso. He smiled slightly and closed his eyes.
-
Chris relaxed in Mason’s arms, humming softly as he held his friend close.
-
Mason nestled into the blankets and Chris. He fell into a light sleep eventually.
