Mason looked down, not responding. He didn't want to feed into the insults.

“Aww, look at you, defending the f---“ “Shut the f--- up, Henry,” Chris spoke, anger seeping into his voice as he pulled the blonde away from Mason. “Don’t get too close, or you’ll become gay like him, Chris!” Atticus said, laughing softly. “You too, f--- off!” He exclaimed, wrapping an arm around Mason’s shoulder.

Mason tensed slightly, still not responding. 'Yeah, just go away,' he mumbled.

“Fine, no need to get so pissed,” Henry said as Atticus stood, rolling his eyes. He gestured for his friend to follow him, the two of them leaving the table. Chris sighed, rubbing Mason’s arm. “Are you okay?”

Mason leaned into his touch, avoiding his gaze. 'Yep,' he mumbled.

'It's fine, really,' Mason said quietly.

“You sure?” Chris asked softly, ducking his head and watching Mason. “We can just, skip the of the day and hang at my place again- Honestly, I could go for another nap~“ He chuckled softly, hugging his friend close for a moment.

Mason sighed softly and relaxed in his arms, leaning back slightly. ‘Yeah, c-could we do that?’

“Of course, dude~ Let’s go, I didn’t really want f
cafeteria food, anyways,” Chris said, chuckling softly as he stood up. -
Mason gave a small smile, standing up.

Chris wrapped his arm around Mason’s shoulder again as he led him out of the cafeteria, heading to Mason’s car.

Mason followed him, eyes glued to the floor.

Chris watched Mason for a moment, exhaling softly. He paused his walking and pulled his friend into a hug, rubbing his back. “I’m sorry about them, Mason. They’re total a--holes, and you shouldn’t have to deal with this…”

Mason rested his head on his shoulder, exhaling slightly. ‘It’s fine,’ he mumbled. He couldn’t stop himself thinking back to the guys, and wasn’t able to enjoy Chris’s hug as much as he’d like to.’
