“We can, but- I didn’t know if you wanted to, in case that Charlotte girl decides to tell your boss,” Connor said, rubbing the back of Evan’s hand with his thumb. “I really hope I didn’t get you in trouble-“

“Oh, yeah,” Evan said quietly, zoning out for a moment. “Tommorow, then?”

“Maybe, to be on the safe side,” Connor said softly, nodding. “I’m so sorry, I- I really shouldn’t have said that…”

“It’s okay! It’s okay,” Evan said quickly, squeezing Connor’s hand. “We’ll be okay. We can survive a day apart, right?”

“Yeah,” Connor replied, nodding. “I just really hope you don’t get in trouble,” he murmured, exhaling.

“I- I think we’ll be fine,” Evan said quietly. “Charlottes pretty honest, I don’t think she’d snitch.”

“I hope so,” Connor said, sighing as he ran his free hand through his hair.

“Yeah, try not to worry too much, okay?” Evan said softly, squeezing his hand as they came up to the fence.

Connor nodded, gently squeezing Evan’s hand before letting go. “I’ll see you soon, okay? And don’t- don’t hesitate to call or text me if you need anything, alright?”

Evan nodded, giving Connor a sad smile. “Yeah, I will. You too, okay?”

Connor nodded, a small smile on his face. “I love you, and I’ll see you soon, hun,” he spoke, kissing Evan’s cheek.

“I love you too,” Evan said softly, smiling and watching Connor walk away. “I’ll check in with you every once in a while, okay?”

Connor nodded, a small smile on his face. “Bye,” he said with a wave before turning, hopping the fence.

“Bye,” Evan said quietly, standing there for a moment before turning and heading back to his cabin.
