“Um, I did, yeah,” Jared’s dad said, nodding a little. “But- let’s not talk about that right now, okay? I promise, I got it under control.”

Jared nodded, leaning into his dad’s arms again. “W-Where’s Liam?” He murmured, looking around for a moment.

“I think him and his mom went into the kitchen,” Jared’s dad said, patting his son’s back and pulling away.

Jared nodded, running a hand through his hair. He turned and started towards the kitchen, quickly moving over to Liam’s side.

“Hey! How’d it go?” Liam asked softly, seeing Jared’s upset expression and pulling him into a hug.

“Good,” Jared spoke softly, hugging onto Liam. He exhaled softly, a small smile on his face. “God, I feel like a weight has been just, lifted off my shoulders.”

“Oh, I’m so happy for you,” Liam said with a bright smile, squeezing Jared a little bit. Jared’s dad came into the kitchen, moving behind the island to mumble something to Liam’s mom.

Jared smiled a little, curling closer to Liam and hugging him close.

Liam rubbed his back, holding Jared close. “God, I’m so proud of you!”

Jared chucked softly, pressing a kiss on Liam’s cheek. “Mm, thank you~” He said with a smile, holding him close.

“Always~” Liam said, giggling and blushing a little.

Jared hummed softly, leaning into his arms.

“Hey, Jare, I have to get back to work, but I’ll have a talk to the people at church, okay?” Jared’s dad said, walking over to his son.

Jared nodded, letting go of Liam for a moment. “It’s fine if- if I stay here longer, right?”

“If it’s okay with Liam’s mom,” He said,
glancing at the woman. “Oh, yeah, totally. Don’t worry about it, he’s always welcome here.”
