(i feel like in person, maybe? jared’s dad could like, come over to liam’s house n they do it there or smth?)
-
(okkk)
Jared’s dad knocked on Liam’s door, pocketing his phone. Liam’s moms opened it, greeting him politely. “Jared! Your dad is here!” She called up the stairs. -
Jared sat up, letting go of Liam. “Oh thank God,” he murmured, exhaling shakily as he stood.
-
“It’s gonna be okay,” Liam said quietly, standing with him and heading downstairs with him. “Hey, Jared, how are you?” His dad said, crouching down a little and holding his arms out to hug his son.
-
Jared moved to his dad, clinging to him. He exhaled shakily, burying his face in the crook of his neck.
-
“Hey,” Jared’s dad said softly, rubbing his son’s back. He held him there for a moment, Liam’s mom leading him away. “You said you wanted to talk about something?”
-
“Yeah, I- I uhm,” Jared started, his hands shaking as he pulled away from his dad a little. “This uhm, this happened a-a while ago, but-“ He started tearing up, pausing for a moment to try and stay calm. He took a deep breath, proceeding to tell his dad about what happened with Pastor Matthew.
-
Jared’s dad listened, trying to stay calm as shock and anger rose in him. “Oh, my God, Jare, why didn’t you tell us?” he said softly, wrapping him in another hug.
-
“H-He told me not to…” Jared murmured, tears rolling down his face as he hugged onto his dad again.
-
“Dear God,” Jared’s dad muttered, gently rubbing Jared’s back. “I promise, I will never let this happen again, okay, bud? That is awful, what he did, and you will get justice”
-
Jared nodded, rubbing his teary eyes. He exhaled shakily, closing his eyes for a moment. “I- I didn’t do anything wrong, did I..?”
-
“No! No, God, no,” Jared dad said quickly, leaning back to look at Jared. “Jare- I- I mean, Pastor Matthew did something wrong. Very wrong. And you were very brave. There was nothing you could really do. Please don’t think you did anything wrong, you’re not in the wrong.”
-
Jared let out a shaky sob, nodding. “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you sooner…”
-
“Hey, I get it, you were scared,” Jared’s dad said, nodding a little. “But, I’m really glad and proud that you felt like you could tell me now.”
-
Jared nodded again, exhaling shakily. He rubbed his tears eyes, lifting his head. “Did- did you talk to Mom at all?”
