“Nah, don’t worry about it~” Jared said with a smile, kissing his cheek. He reached over, checking his phone. “He didn’t call or text, anyways, so don’t sweat it, Bug~”

Liam smiled a little, nodding. “Okay, good. But seriously nothing from him? Or your mom?”

“No- And I haven’t gotten texts from her recently,” Jared replied, setting his phone on his lap. “I may or may not have blocked her a while back because she pissed me off-“ He said with an awkward chuckle, running a hand through his hair.

“Oh,” Liam paused in surprise. He would’ve never done that with his mother, no matter how annoying she might’ve been. “That makes a little more sense, now.”

Jared exhaled softly, staring down at his lap. “I’m sorry you’ve kinds got involved in all this drama-“

“It’s okay, if it means I get to be with you, I don’t care,” Liam said with a soft smile, wrapping his arms around Jared.

Jared smiled, curling closer to Liam. “I am pissed my piano teaching session was cut short, though,” he said, chuckling softly.

“Maybe when we go to church you can teach me more,” Liam said with a giggle, rubbing Jared’s back.

Jared nodded, a wave of anxiousness washing over him. He curled closer to Liam, burying his face in his shoulder.

“You wanna talk?” Liam whispered softly.

“I- I dunno, I’m just- nervous about going back to church,” Jared murmured, exhaling shakily.

“Oh, yeah,” Liam whispered. “Can we tell your dad?”

“I- I want to, but-“ Jared exhaled shakily, lifting his head. “W-What if I get in trouble-“

“Why would you get in trouble? Your dad seems very understanding,” Liam said softly.

“But what if- what if no one believes me?” Jared asked, his voice shaking. “What if t-they think I’m lying, or- or Pastor M-Matthew just tell them I’m lying??”
