"it's a lot. You'd be failing so far behind you'd be dropped to freshman classes. Mostly due to the homework. That would be way worse than what you have now." Octavia said

"Damn, that's crazy- so glad I'm not doing that, or even have the brains for it," Adrienne said with an awkward chuckle, leaning back in their seat. "I barely have the brains for my classes now," they added, yawning again. "f---, I'm exhausted-"

"are you good to do homework today? No offense but you sound like you're barely awake enough to talk, let alone finish any assignments." Octavia said, looking through the various papers in the untouched science folder.

"Honestly, not really," Adrienne mumbled, yawning again. "I'm exhausted-"

Octavia sighed and then handed Adrienne an apple. "You should go home. You need sleep. We can say tutoring was cancelled due to illness or something." Octavia said

"I guess so-" Adrienne spoke as they took the apple, staring at it for a moment. "I have chores I need to start on before my siblings get home, anyways."

"you should take a nap before you do those chores. You really need sleep, you can barely open your eyes Adrienne." Octavia said, her voice laced with concern.

"But my- my parents have work, and then I have to take care of my siblings," Adrienne replied with another yawn, rubbing their eyes as they took a bite of the apple.

"don't make me go to your house. You need rest, you don't need to stay up doing other people's chores. That's not any way to treat yourself." Octavia said sternly. She packed away her folders.

"Wait, aren't we studying?" Adrienne asked, watching Octavia pack her bag with confusion. "And, I'll- I'll be fiiine, don't worry about me-"

"you are not in the right state of mind to study. If you do homework while tired then you'll fail because you'll be too tired to work through the problems properly. You'll only put in a third of your effort because your brain has already given up." Octavia said, zipping up her bag.

"Oh- okay," Adrienne replied quietly, yawning again. They took another bite out of the apple, leaning back in their seat.

Octavia sighed and opened the front pocket to her bag. She pulled some hot hands out and opened the box looking out of the window in the library. It was terribly cold outside.
