Theo's head shot up, and he moved closer to her. "Yeah. Just texting Hazel." He shrugged.

Layla frowned slightly but replaced it with a smile. ‘What did she say?’

Theo noticed her frown and raised his eyebrows slightly before brushing it off. "Just stuff about Max liking her."

Layla raised an eyebrow, chuckling. She lay down next to him and hugged onto him. ‘What happened?’

Theo held her tightly. "Apparently he told her, and she doesn't know how to feel about it."

‘Right. And that’s bad why?’

"It's not." Theo said a bit too quickly. Well that didn't make you sound like a liar at ALL

Layla raised an eyebrow. ‘I don’t believe you.’

Theo sighed. "I dunno, relationship drama is just weird, y'know?"

‘I get it. But you’re better off without her, trust me,’ Layla said with a soft smile, kissing Theo’s cheek.

Theo was puzzled by that. "What do you mean, without her?" He asked curiously.

‘Like, not in a close relationship with her?’

Theo snorted, half out of thinking it was a joke and half out of 'huh?' "What do you mean? She's just a friend, Layla, relax." He felt a prickle go down his spine, but he chose to ignore it for now.

Layla rolled her eyes. ‘Didn’t seem that way when you were groaning into your pillow,’ she said, looking up at him. ‘I mean it, she’s not good for you, as a friend or not.’

Theo raised his eyebrows. "You were here for that long?" He asked before shaking his head. "She's just a friend. It was just a weird conversation." He pulled his phone out. "Look, you can check. I've done nothing wrong."
