Hazel’s face fell. She hadn’t really expected Theo not to move on from their relationship, but the fantasies she’d had of them getting back together seemed too amazing to not be true. She quickly regained her composure and forced a smile. ‘Cool.’

Theo noticed her smile falter. "Sorry, that killed the mood." He mumbled. He knew it was awkward to bring up a new girlfriend, but he figured enough time had passed for it to be less awkward. Clearly he must've been wrong though.

‘No, you’re all good! I’m happy for you,’ Hazel said, feigning a bright smile. Ally had stopped crying, and was sleeping on Hazel’s shoulder. She noticed a pretty French girl walk out of the airport and towards Theo. She said something in French.
Hazel looked down at her shoes. Oh my god, she’s even pretty as hell- -
Theo smiled once he saw his girlfriend. He told her to get in the car and that he'd drive her soon in French before looking up at Hazel. He could see the jealousy in her eyes. Oh god, this is going to get messy FAST.

Hazel feigned a smile. ‘I should go,’ she said, shifting Ally in her arms. ‘See you.’ She turned around, sighing. It wasn’t that she was mad at Theo for moving on, she was mad she hadn’t. She was still crying after school when he wasn’t around.

"Ok, bye! Text me if you want to meet up!" Theo smiled cheerfully before getting into the car, fidgeting with one of his bracelets for a moment and turning the car on.
"Who was that?" Layla asked, in French.
"A friend. I met her back during the foreign exchange stuff." He turned the car on. -
Hazel sighed as she walked back into the airport. Her family was in the lobby, waiting for Hazel. They walked back out and got an Uber to their hotel room, where they unpacked. ‘I dibs the one by the window!’ Jackie shouted. Hazel set Ally down on the ground to play with her toys.

Theo started driving to Layla's house. They were neighbors, so after he dropped her off he drove to his house and walked into his room.

Hazel sat down on her bed, staring at her text messages with Theo on her phone. There were two rooms in her apartment. Lilla, Jackie and her were in one, and Tyron, Ally and the adults were in the other.
Hazel debated texting Theo, before deciding against it. -
Theo sighed, looking at his phone before deciding to text her.
Sorry that turned out awkward. I can't believe you're here! -
Hazel was watching Jackie and Lilla argue about closet space when her phone pinged. ‘Who’s texting you?’
Hazel looked down at her phone, and tried not to show how happy she was that Theo had texted her. ‘Nobody,’ she said, responding with, All good! We’re here for three weeks. -
That's awesome! We should try to meet up!

We could go to one of the attractions or something. I doubt you went all this way just to hang out at my house lol
