Lavender grinned. "Sounds good~" She kept working.

Maeve continued watching.

Lavender smiled. The shift went by much quicker with Maeve around.

Maeve stood menacingly in the corner as she worked.

After a bit of working, Lavender noticed a group of boys at the line. "Oh s---." She muttered to herself.

Maeve heard her, frowning slightly.

One of the boys made it to the front. "Hey blondie~" He said with a dumb--- smirk. Lavender forced a smile.

Maeve stepped forward and stood a little behind Lavended, frowning.

"The usual?" Lavender was already grabbing the pastries, trying to make this interaction as quick as possible.
"Yeah, and make it quick, baby~" -
Maeve wrinkled her nose at that. She put a hand on Lavender’s shoulder. ‘You okay?’

"Yeah, I'm fine." Lavender looked down at her hands.
One of the boys turned to Maeve. "Who's this one?~" -
Maeve glared, squeezing Lavender’s hand. She disappeared, then reappeared on the other side of the counter, next to the boys. ‘This one is royalty. Piss off.’

"Maeve!" Lavender didn't want to cause trouble in the shop. The boy who asked who she was looked terrified, and took a few steps back from her. Lavender quickly grabbed their pastries. "Sorry about that." She mumbled.

Maeve glared at the boys. She made a face at them and disappeared again, reappearing next to Lavender. She wrapped her arms around her.

Lavender held her close. "It's okay." She mumbled.
