Nick squeezed Karl’s hand for a second before letting go, sitting on the opposite side of the table.
“Alright, I’ll let your sever know and they’ll be over here in a minute, okay?” She said with a nod, leaving.
“Okay,” Nick said with a smile, glancing from her to Karl. -

Karl nodded and smiled before looking back at Nick, grinning. "Gosh, I haven't been here in forever," he commented, resting his hands on the table in front of him. -
“Really? I used to come here with my mom all the time, and I guess I never really stopped,” Nick said with a chuckle, glancing around for a second.

"I used too as well, with my family," Karl spoke, leaning against the table and propping his chin on his hands. "Then I guess I just, didn't have time. Now I've got all the time in the world, since I chose not to go to college."

“That must be nice,” Nick said with a smile, leaning against the back of his chair.

"Are you in school right now?" Karl asked, extending his hand and offering it to Nick with a small smile.

Nick smiled, sitting up again and leaning forward so he could grab Karl’s hand. “Uhh, I take a few classes here and there, but I’m not technically enrolled in school. I’ve got time, and I’d rather not stress about school and stuff.”

"That makes sense," Karl replied with with a smile, gently squeezing Nick's hand. "I thought about school a bit, but it's just- not for me. Never really had the brains for it, I suppose." He chuckled, his face heating up. "It's embarrassing, I know. I probably just need to put in a bit more effort, or something."

Nick shrugged, smiling. “I don’t think it’s embarrassing. If you don’t want to do it, don’t. You’re doing fine without it.”

Karl looked up at Nick with a smile, giggling softly. "I guess you're right," he replied, smiling. "I just always thought I was doing something wrong, or I was missing out on something for not going to college."

Nick shook his head quickly, giggling. “Trust me, youre not missing out on much.”
“Hello, my name is Karina,” A waitress walked up to their table, smiling as she brought out her notepad. “I’ll be your waitress this afternoon. Could I get you gentlemen started with something to drink?” -
Karl giggled, nodding before turning to look at the waitress. "I'll have just a water, please," he commented, gently squeezing Nick's hand.

“I’ll have a lemonade,” Nick said with a smile, glancing at their hands before back at the waitress.
“Alright, sounds good. I’ll go get those for you, okay?” She said with a smile, tucking away her notepad.
“That’s awesome, thank you so much.” -
Karl looked over at Nick, giggling as he nudged his foot with his own. "So, I'm assuming Elodie told you to ask me out..?" Karl asked after a moment, watching him for a moment.
