“Alright.” Ernest ruffled her hair.

Ernie played with her hair a bit longer.

Mahina nuzzled against him.

Ernest let her, smiling.

Mahina smiled.

Ernie looked at her. “Hi.” He smiled.

‘Hullo.’

“You feeling a bit better?” Ernie asked hopefully.

Ernie sighed. “Alright, that’s fine.”

Mahina sighed.

Ernest cupped her cheek in his hand so he could look her in the eyes. “Hey, we’ll figure this out, alright?”
