Selene grimaced, not sure if she should say it bluntly, or try and say it softly.
(Do you know the actual reason, or at least an idea of it so I can work from there?) -
(Yeah, I've got it)
Mahina waited, frowning.
'Your parents... they didn't think they could take care of you.' -
(Alr cool)
Uhh... Ernie was getting cramped under the bed. He could feel his legs falling asleep. He hated that feeling. "Dammit." He muttered to himself. -
Lol.
When Mahina didn't respond, Selene continued. 'You were an interesting child, Mahina. You weren't in control of your magic. You used an adult wand, yet you, multiple times, nearly set my house on fire.'
A small smile tugged on the corner's of Selene's mouth, but quickly diminished. 'So my parents couldn't take care of me because I was such a clutz?' -
Selene didn't know quite how to respond to that. "Well, not necessarily... But you were a bit of a troublemaking child..." She knew she wasn't wording it right.
-
Mahina looked away. 'Right.'
Selene sighed. She put a hand on Mahina's shoulder. 'I was a close friend of your parents for a long time. They were scared they couldn't protect you from yourself, and that maybe you... weren't the same as other young witches.' -
Ernest could hear a bit of the conversation, trying to focus on it and not his now asleep legs to keep away the boredom.
-
'That's a terrible excuse. I could've gone to school!'
Selene laughed. 'You would've hated sitting in a desk 6 hours a day.'
'Maybe, but still!' -
Selene tried to imagine Mahina going to one of the villages school's and enjoying it, while simultaneously not exploding or burning anything in the class. It was a liiiittle hard to imagine.
-
Mahina huffed.
-
Selene gave a small sigh. "I'm sorry, Mahina." She said quietly, knowing how unfair it was.
-
'I couldn't have been THAT difficult as a kid?'
-
Selene gave a so-so hand gesture. "Harder than most witches." She admit. "But only by a little."
-
'That doesn't make me feel better.'
-
Selene chuckled. "Fair enough. You were fine- just a little klutz, is all."
