Chester shrugged, snuggling against him. ‘I don’t know,’ he said quietly, fiddling with the pocket watch. ‘I’m just happy I got it back.’

Jayd nodded, smiling. "Me too." He looked up at Chester, a lovestruck look on his face.

Chester kissed his nose, snuggling against him, relaxing against him.

Jayden wrapped his arms around Chester, pulling him close with a soft smile.

Chester smiled back, wrapping his arms against his neck. He exhaled shakily and nuzzled against him. ‘I love you.’

Jayd noticed the shaky exhale. "I love you too. You alright?"

Chester nodded, closing his eyes as he relaxed against his boyfriend. ‘Yeah. Just a bit fazed.’

"Why's that?" Jayd asked softly, kissing his boyfriends nose.

Chester smiled softly, leaning into his touch. ‘Well, your brother just fixed my pocket watch,’ he said. ‘And I’m still fazed from losing it.’

Jayd nodded. "Makes sense."

Chester nodded. ‘And, I’m kind of scared for the surgery.’

Jayden looked Chester in the eyes. "Hey, it'll be ok. I'll be right there the whole time, and clearly Oliver's intent on doing a good job if he's dedicating a whole day just to research."

Chester looked down, avoiding his gaze. ‘I-I know. But what if something goes wrong?’

Jayd held Chester's chin in his hands, looking him in the eyes again. "It won't. Oliver's a good doctor, he won't mess up. Worst case scenario, you'll just have nasty side effects, and we'll learn how to deal with those."

Chester leaned into his touch, sighing softly. ‘I-I know.’
