“I trusted him. And I can’t leave him, even after he…” Jayden couldn’t bring himself to say the words. “You know what he did.”

'I can't believe I'm saying this,' Maeve said, 'but why not?'

“Because I love him. I’d lose my mind if he left.” Jayden mumbled. But there’s no point in love if you don’t trust him. his mind whispered.

'He loves you too. A lot,' Maeve reached into her leather satchel and pulled out a framed photo of Jayden. 'I found this in his study. He doesn't even have a photo of me in his study! There IS a painting of me right outside though... but still.'

Jayd couldn’t help a small smile from forming. “Thanks, Maeve.” He was glad she stayed to hear him vent for so long.

Maeve smiled back. 'But don't tell him I took it. He's a douche sometimes, but he loves you.'

Jayden was fully smiling now, moving his hands away from his face and grabbing another piece of bacon. “Thanks.” He said again.

'All good.' Maeve put the photo back in her satchel and stuffed some more bacon in her mouth. 'He's also written A LOT about you in his journal.'

“He has a recent one?” Jayden perked up. He was so nosy for this, but he wanted to read it out of curiosity.

'Yep. It's under his bed,' Maeve said, grinning.

Jayden chuckled. “Noted.”

Maeve grinned mischievously and finished her breakfast. 'Cya!' She disappeared.

“Bye!” Jayden called out. He finished his breakfast alone. He didn’t like how quiet it was.

Chester was in the garden, praying. He wasn't sure if it was praying if it wasn't to a god or deity, but he didn't know what else to call it. The whole time his mind wandered to Jayden, probably hating him more than anything, so it took longer to focus and call on his father.
Eventually, an apparition of his father appeared. He strongly resembled Chester, the same hair, jawline and slightly crooked nose.
