Chester smiled softly.

Jayd looked up at Chester. “Why didn’t you tell me about Beatrice kissing you before it was all over the news?” He asked quietly.

'I... didn't know how,' Chester admitted, looking down. 'I didn't want you to hate me. I thought if I kept it secret, I could forget about it and pretend it never happened.'

Jayden frowned. He scooted closer to him. “You’re not allowed to keep secrets like that from me, ok?”

Chester nodded. 'I know that now. I would've had it been someone else, but... I didn't want you to think I'm not over Beatrice.'

Jayd nodded. “I get it.” That doesn’t make it ok, but I get it.

Chester took a shaky breath. 'It's not OK, I know that. You don't have to forgive me, alright? I just want you to know I'm sorry.'

Jayden nodded. “I know. Stop beating yourself up over it, it’s fine.” Was it fine? No. Did he want Chester to be this upset the whole day? No.

'It's not fine! You know that, right?'

“Yes, I know that.” Jayden mumbled. “Stop getting so mad at yourself for it though.”

'Why? I deserve it.'

“Not this much.” Jayden shook his head.

Chester shook his head. 'Agree to disagree.'

“Chester, no hating yourself allowed.” Jayd frowned.

Chester smiled softly. 'Why not?'
