Chester pursed his lips, looking up at the ceiling. 'Alright. That's not as bad as it could be.' He rolled over to face him. 'What do you want? I don't want to smother you and force you into a relationship if you don't want one with me. I... do you still want to be my boyfriend?'

Jayden didn’t have an immediate answer to that. “I-I do.” He said quietly. “I just… I just need time. A lot of it. I’m sorry.”

Chester smiled softly. 'Take as much time as you need. Don't be sorry.' He thought for a moment before pulling out his diary from under his bed.

Jayd looked at the diary, smiling.

Chester handed it to him. 'You can read this if you like. If it would make you feel better to know, well, pretty much everything about me at this point.'

Jayden smiled, taking the diary. “Thanks.” He smiled, opening it up.

Chester smiled, laying back down next to him. 'Feel free to ask questions, too, since I have no choice but to answer them now.'

Jayden didn’t know if Chester could answer this question accurately or based on what he thought was accurate, but he asked anyways. “This one’s odd topic, but Maeve said she’s worried you’re going insane since you’re talking to the dead so much. Are you?”

Chester thought for a moment. 'I...' he paused and frowned. 'A little.' He paused again. 'Why were you guys talking about that?'

“Because you left breakfast early, so she figured you were talking to the dead.” Jayden shrugged. He didn’t like Chester’s answer. “No going insane, Chester.”

'I was,' Chester admitted. He smiled softly. 'I'll try, lo-' He cut himself off when he used the pet name again.

Jayd gave a small smile. “It's ok, you can call me love. I just…. Might not call you it yet,”

Chester smiled softly. 'That's fine. I'll try not to, but it might take a while...' He sighed.

“It’s ok.” Jayden said quietly. He flipped through the pages of the diary before stopping to read it.

Chester fiddled with his pocket watch.
