‘No,’ Chester said. ‘I want you to stay. But if you’d rather not, that’s fine.’
-
Jayd stayed with him. "I'll stay."
-
‘Thank you,’ Chester said, smiling softly. He stepped away from him so put the painting back on the wall, then put the pillow back on his bed. ‘Do you think I could kick her out of the castle or something?’ he asked, but only partially joking.
-
Jayd shrugged. "You could. Or exile her if she's so bad."
-
‘That’s a good idea, actually,’ Chester said with a small laugh.
-
Jayden chuckled.
-
Chester smiled. ‘So,’ he said, leaning slightly closer. ‘I suppose I should go sort that out,’ he muttered, shoulders slumping a little.
-
"I can come with you if you want." Jayd offered.
-
‘Thank you,’ Chester said softly, kissing his neck. ‘But it’s my problem, not yours. I’ll go sort it out.’ He walked towards the door.
-
Jayden nodded, staying in the room for a bit to think about everything that just happened.
-
Chester kissed the back of his hand. ‘I’ll see you later, alright?’ he said, then left.
-
"Bye." Jayd gave a small smile. After a bit he stood up and wandered around the halls.
-
Chester walked back down to the library. He wasn’t looking for Beatrice. He pulled out this big dusty law book from an attic and scanned the index, then turned to page 237, ‘Family falling outs’.
-
Jayd kept walking, running into Beatrice accidentally. "Hello." He said quickly.
-
‘Hello,’ Beatrice said, tone very friendly. Her eyes red and slightly puffy.
