Chester stirred, grip on Jayden tightening slightly. he buried his face in his shirt, waking up.

Jayden held him close, frowning.

Chester looked up at him, relaxing slightly in his arms. He exhaled shakily, hand moving up and playing with his hair. ‘Good morning, my love,’ he said, forcing a smile.

"Morning." Jayden mumbled, not even trying to smile. "I'm sorry about Beatrice."

Chester’s smile disappeared. ‘What?’

"I was in your dream." Jayden murmured. "Maeve somehow got both of us into it."

Chester stared at him for a moment, then looked away. ‘Oh,’ he mumbled.

Jayden held him close. "I'm sorry for what she did." He apologized, figuring it he didn't, no one else would.

‘It’s not your fault,’ Chester mumbled. ‘I’m sorry you had to see that.’

"It's not like she'll apologize." Jayd pointed out with a small shrug. "I don't mind, I just feel bad that I didn't know how bad it was."

‘I-I guess. Your situation with Benji was probably worse, hun.’

"Doubt it." Jayden mumbled. He didn't care whether Chester was right or not.

Chester pulled him closer, burying his face in his shirt. He exhaled slowly. ‘I love you.’

"I love you too." Jayden kissed the top of his head. "Do you want to talk about it?"

‘God, no. I just need to hold you for a bit.’
