Maeve sighed, holding her legs to her chest. ‘This better end soon,’ she mumbled.

The scene kept switching, showing more and more letters from Beatrice piling up.

Until it eventually switched to Chester standing over his fireplace, desk pushed against the wall. He was throwing the opened letters into the fireplace Eliza-core.

Jayden and Maeve were hiding in the same spot. Each letter began to become more and more frantic with their pleadings for Chester to come back.

Chester just stopped reading the letters after a bit, too tired and too depressed to bother. He just threw them into a drawer now dedicated to storing the letters.

Jayden frowned, wondering if the drawer still had all of those letters. He looked over at Maeve to ask, but realized how exhausted she looked.

Maeve buried her face in her hands. Chester sat at his desk, pacing.

Chester stood from his desk and started pacing.*)

Jayden scooched next to her to try and comfort him. -
Maeve let him, hugging her knees to her chest. ‘I’m sorry, I don’t know how to change it,’ she mumbled.

"I'm not mad." Jayden said softly, wrapping an arm around her gently. "Not at you."

Maeve leaned into his embrace, using him as a pillow. ‘Okay,’ she mumbled.

Jayden let her, rubbing her back gently to try and distract her from what Chester was doing and calm her down.

Maeve let him, avoiding looking at Chester. The dream eventually shifted, and the world went black for a few minutes. When Maeve opened her eyes, she was back in her room. Jayden and Chester weren’t there.

Jayden opened his eyes shortly after, realizing he was back in Chesters' room, laying next to him. He hoped that meant the nightmare was over for Chester and Maeve as well.
