Theo followed him, wringing his hands in nervousness. "I'm really sorry." He whispered. "I just figured, since it was the last day... Please don't blame her."
-
Hazel’s father sighed softly, leaning against the wall. ‘It’s fine. I’ll pretend I didn’t see that. I actually wanted to talk to you about Hazel, though.’
-
Theo nodded quickly. If he was going to pretend he didn't see that, it was a good sign, right? Unless he decided he was already going to make the two break up...
"Of course. Go ahead." -
(He should totally make the two break up)
The older man paused before continuing. ‘You’re going back to France today, halfway across the world. I don’t think you two should keep, y’know, going out.’ -
(Phhht okee)
Theo leaned against the wall. "What? B-but I- she- you just..." He sighed. If he argued, he could be seen as a problem and a bad influence and not be allowed to talk to Hazel at all. But if he agreed... "Why? Other than the time change, obviously." -
(Yasss we love the drama)
‘I don’t think you’re such a good influence on her. Don’t think I didn’t find out about you two wagging yesterday,’ he said, his voice taking on a sharper tone. -
(Slayyy)
Theo winced. "I... I'm sorry." He mumbled. How on earth was he going to prove he wasn't a bad influence?! "Am I... Am I still allowed to text her? As a friend?" -
Hazel’s father sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose. He figured he couldn’t stop them. ‘Yeah, fine. But I don’t want you putting these things in her head again, okay? Since you came she’s been acting up constantly.’
-
It's not like I've been telling her to act up! Theo sighed, nodding slowly. "I won't. Promise."
-
‘Thank you. Now go get packed, we’re leaving in an hour,’ Hazel’s dad said, before standing up straight and walking away.
-
Theo nodded, walking into the room, shutting the door quietly.
-
Hazel stirred awake at the noise. ‘Mnnph..’
-
"It's just me." Theo mumbled, laying next to her but not snuggling into her like before.
-
Hazel frowned, snuggling closer to him. ‘What’s wrong, love?’
-
"I just... I don't think we should be together once I'm in France." He winced. "Not that I don't want to be with you! It's just... The time change, and I mean, wouldn't you rather be with someone you could see in person instead of through texting?" He wasn't quite sure why he was defending her dad, but he didn't want to cause a family drama between the 2 of them once he left.
