Florence looked at the creature, then unceremoniously and rather unpolitely grabbed Collins by the waist and jumped out of the window.

Collins squeaked and clung to Florence when he jumped out of the window. ‘You could warn me when you do that!’ she complained.

"sorry, jen is scary. They... They're much much stronger than I am." Florence said as he landed.he landed heavy on his leg due to less support from his wings. He whinced and mimicked a sour note on a violin before spreading out his wings. He'd lost some drifting feathers. That made it a bit harder to fly. He let go of Collins and lowered his head as he shuffled away backwards. He knew he was gonna get in trouble.

‘You okay?’ Collins asked, dusting herself off and brushing hair out of her face as she looked at Florence, noticing his head was hung.

"I'm sorry." Florence said, folding his wings in. He was waiting to get hit. Even if his treatment was better with junior researchers, sometimes he'd breach containment to say hi, or hug them unexpectedly and they would often yell at him and hit him when such things happened.

‘That’s- er, why?’ Collins asked, frowning slightly.

"I was out of line." Florence said. That's what people said when he was in trouble, he was either out of line or had a lot of nerve scaring them like that.

Collins blinked. ‘I don’t get it. What did you do?’ she asked, frowning slightly. ‘I-I don’t think you did anything wrong-‘

"I didn't? I grabbed you without permission." Florence said. He mimicked a fire alarm.

‘I’m glad you did, Jen looked like they were about to eat us,’ Collins said. ‘It’s fine, Florence, I don’t mind.’

Florence lifted his head and rested his wings. "Really? I mean, jen probably would eat you, but I... I'm happy not to be in trouble." Florence said proudly. He mimicked a set of bells. Suddenly, there was a sound that was quite familiar. It sounded like the beating of Florence's wings, but he was not flying.

‘Why would you be in trouble?’ Collins asked. She noticed the sound but ignored it, figuring it was nothing.

"people hate it when I sneak up on them. They usually hit me for it." Florence said. He mimicked the wingbeats as they seemed to get closer.

Collins looked around, trying to find the source of the noise, before focusing back on Florence. ‘That’s not very nice of them.’

"they got scared. Maybe they thought I went mean like everyone else. I'm still mad at them for it." Florence said. He mimicked the wing beats before they suddenly stopped.
