"Makes sense." Jonah repeated, walking off slowly, wondering if Valako would follow.

Valako walked out of the store, waving to the terrified cashier.

The cashier only looked more terrified as Valako and Jonah both left. He handed her the cherry coke.

"thanks for vouching for me." Valako said as she grabbed the coke

"No problem. I wasn't just gonna let them yell at you."

"it just happens sometimes." Valako said looking at the soda

"That's horrible." Jonah said with a frown. "I'm sorry."

"it's not a new thing, it's just a fact of life when you look like I do." Valako said.

"Alright." Jonah said, not wanting to argue as he walked through the street.

Valako looked around the streets anxiously. She hoped the minor setback with the cops hadn't taken too much time, or else there'd be rocks in her future

After a while they got to the forest, where a couple little kids were staring at the trees for something to happen. Jonah walked past them to Valako's house, waiting for her to follow.

Valako stared at the children clutching her groceries closer to her chest. She ran quickly towards the trees.

"You got a problem with kids?" Jonah asked, following Valako.

A rock came flying at her head. Almost like a response. "They don't take kindly to me." Valako said

"Oy, go somewhere else!" Jonah yelled at the kids, and only a couple of them actually did. "I'm sorry about that."
