Valako's egg timer went off and she took the pizza out. She cut the pizza into eighths. "I decided to go with mozzarella with this pizza." Valako said.

Jonah smiled. “Sounds delicious. He said.

Valako took a slice of pizza and lifted her veil up just enough to eat. Usually she ate wearing a mask instead, but she was wearing the veil when Jonah got there and she refused to change masks while Jonah was there. She felt like he'd scream if he had to see her actual face again. Especially while she was eating.

“You can take it off y’know.” Jonah said. “I don’t mind,”

"I shouldn't take off the veil when eating. It's unpleasant." Valako said. Her mom once told her that it made her lose her appetite. That's how she started eating with masks.

“I don’t care.” Jonah said. “Nothing can ruin pizza for me.”

"Well, I warned you." Valako said taking off her veil. As she chewed, the skin where her other eye would be jiggled. The scarring where her nose would've raised wrinkled in an odd way.

Jonah smiled as he took a bite out of his pizza. “All I’m thinking is what I was yesterday: you’re beautiful.”

She couldn't help but blush about that. "I still don't think that's possible, but I'm glad you don't find me hideous." Valako said. She poked the skin around the non-eye.

“Well it is possible.” Jonah said, his face slightly pinker. “And I don’t find you hideous.”

"I'm slightly jealous of you for that. Even I think I'm hideous to an extent." Valako said as she tried to hide her blushing that she became aware of.

“Well you’re not, so get that thought out of your head.” Jonah said, taking a bite out of his pizza.

"I'm pretty sure you're the only person in town that doesn't think I'm hideous, Jonah." Valako said as she grabbed a bread stick from the bread stick mug

“Well then I’m the only person in town with a brain.” Jonah said, finishing his pizza.
