"Yeah I liked him too. I liked that pig, pumba I think he was called from Lion King" Amira laughed.
-
"I used to watch the lion King a lot, I liked to sing along. It was my dad's favorite movie." Javas said. He stared at the photograph observing each detail. He felt like sometimes he forgot their faces. Sometimes he forgot his own face.
-
Aria followed Javas's gaze to the pictur of him and his family. "They look like they really love you, you know" she whispered unsure whether this was the right thing to say or not.
-
"they might've once." Javas said. He stood up and placed the picture back on the dresser. He then walked to the door. "I need to look at one more room before I head back." Javas said
-
Aria sighed. "No worries, where uhm do you want me to go?"
-
"it doesn't matter to me, you can follow if you want or stay in here." Javas said, walking out. The living room still smelled like Lysol. He opened the door and walked into his old room. Dust hung still through the air.
-
Aria hesitated, then followed him. She looked around at the boyish bedsheets, the mine-craft style wallpaper.
-
Javas looked at his old bed, a racecar. He remembered being so happy that he had an actual racecar bed that sometimes he'd just sleep on the carpet instead of the bed. The shelves were filled with books and niknaks, he had a whole shelf dedicated to fast food kid's meal toys.
-
"They must of loved you so much, I wish I'd grown up with this" she said eyes wide as she looked at everything on his shelves.
-
Javas sighed. If his parents loved him as much as it seemed, he thought it meant they wouldn't leave him. Mount Everest, was it more loveable than your own child. That's just what his parents thought. He looked on the walls at the posters. He still had his adventure time poster with the torn corner hanging over the hole in his wall.

Ari sighed. She looked up at a clock on the bedroom wall. "I should get back, we can't leave the younger ones by themselves for ages" she said turning round to exit the House.
-
"I'll meet you there." Javas said. He picked up a stuffed dog. He used to keep it for particularly dark and stormy nights. He was so afraid of the thunder and lightning. He still was to this day, but he no longer needed a stuffed toy to feel safe. He'd never feel safe so he just had to feel brave.
-
Aria retreated back to the camp. Her throat was sore after speaking so much after all those months of barely saying a word. When she got back everyone seemed to be fine, apart from little Mia who had just tripped over. She automatically ran over to her, but when she opened her mouth to ask if she was okay, nothing came out. Ari rubbed her throat then examined her knees which she had scraped but they weren't too bad. She knew the right thing to do was to comfort her, but she didn't know what to say or the right thing to do.
-
Javas hugged the stuffed dog tightly then set it on the racecar bed. He walked sorrowfully out of his old room and shut the door. He walked through the living room then out of the door. He shut the door and put his forehead against the door. "Goodbye mom. Goodbye dad." He took his forehead off of the door. "And goodbye Javas." He said before walking down the stairs of the apartment.
