Nat changed in a spot in the corner, avoiding the other - very LOUD - girls. She finished as quickly as she could before she walked out.

Nikolai was leaning against the wall until the bell finally rang, and class officially started.

They were still training for the Athletics Carnival. The teacher led the students outside and formed them into groups in which they would face against in a 400 metre run, which was stupid because there wasn't a 400 metre event.

Nikolai tried not to groan. It was no secret that he didn’t have a lot of endurance when it came to running, so he knew that a 400 meter run would not be great. He stretched and got ready for it though.

Natsuki figured she was fast but not great at endurance. She tried not to look too disappointed - mainly because she'd already got in trouble today - and stretched.

After stretching for a minute or two, the gym teacher said it was time to start running, so Nikolai did, making sure he didn’t go super fast or super slow.

When Nik's group had crossed the halfway point, the teacher started Nat's group. Natsuki tried not to use all her energy in the first quarter, and evidently failed, falling from 2nd place to 4th.

Nik kept running, trying to make sure he didn’t fall too far behind, being in 3rd place. He decided to use the rest of his energy in the final lap.

After a few more minutes, they finally reached there final lap. Nat had not caught up, remaining in 4th out of 8, but it didn't bother her. Nobody was winning a medal or points for their house, just bragging rights.

Nik finally got to the final lap, and he started going slightly faster, though still not going very fast, and ended narrowly beating the guy in 4th place, making so he was in 3rd place.

They crossed the finish line, Nat crouching down with her hands on her knees in an attempt to catch her breath.

Nik walked over to Natsuki. “You did good.” He asked, trying to catch his breath.

Natsuki coughed, her throat burning. She smiled and gestured to Nik, trying to say he did too.

“Do you need a drink of water?” Nik asked, motioning to the water fountain a couple inches away, where a big line of people were.

Natsuki shook her head, still trying to catch her breath.
