Natsuki just shrugged and gave a small smile, trying to show that she'd forgiven him. She sat back on the sofa and reached into her school dress pocket to get a hairtie and tied her long hair into a ponytail, figuring it was better to keep it tied up.

“I-um, do you want me to walk you to your house?” He asked, not knowing if that would help keep the foster agents away. “Y’know, since your brother hasn’t read the text, and it’d probably be better for you than staying here.”

Natsuki paused then nodded. She felt somehow safer in Nik's presence, despite having being assaulted and yelled at by his mother.

Nikolai grinned slightly, opening the front door. He walked with Nat, making sure they didn’t get separated or lost.

Natsuki turned her phone torch on and did her best to remember the way home. After 5 minutes or so, they got to her street. At the end, where Nat's house was supposed to be, were two police cars with flashing sirens and a woman in a suit talking to a tall man with messy black hair. A little girl with two braids was clinging to the man's arm, crying.
Natsuki's eyes widened in fright. -
(Damn, I made it sound like Nat's house wasn't there. It is, if you're wondering 🤣)

Nikolai grabbed Nats hand and squeezed it comfortingly, trying to think of something f to say.
“I-it-I’m so sorry.” He said, not knowing what else to do. “Do you maybe know what’s happening?” -
(super random, but do you want them to fall in love like it says in the description? And if you do, when would they tell-or sign- that they like each other?)

Nat watched the woman try and take Ming's free hand, but the little girl refused. Xiao was yelling. Nat recognised the uniform the woman was wearing she worked for the foster agency, and had gotten help from the police.
Natsuki nodded her head, refusing to look at Nik.
(They can fall in love if you're alright with it?) -

Nikolai looked at Nat, and realized what was happening.
“Foster care found you guys, didn’t they?” He asked, not really expecting an answer. “Do you want to go to your family, or do you want to stay here?” -
Natsuki thought about that for a second. If she went over, the foster agents would undoubtedly try and get hold of her. The only point to going over was to let Xiao know she was OK.
If she stayed and hid with Nikolai, she wouldn't be taken away.
In response, Natsuki shuffled closer to Nik, not moving other than that. -
Nikolai looked at her, noticing how she moved closer to him.
“You want to stay with me?” He asked, in a little bit of disbelief. He knew it wasn’t a fair question-it was literally get caught or don’t- but part of him thought she would go with her brother and sister. He wrapped his arm around her. -
Natsuki nodded, watching the foster agent try and grab Ming's arm. She felt she was safe hiding with Nik, even though she knew the foster agents wouldn't stop trying to get hold of her at the sight of him.

“Do you want to walk away from here?” Nikolai asked. “You probably don’t want to have to watch this happen.”
