"of course, i don't want them thinking they're better than me anymore." Blaze says gruffly.

Claire started feeling even more tired so she rested her head of Blaze's shoulder. "Anyone who thinks badly of you isn't better than you," Claire said. "You'd better not listen to anyone who speaks down to you."

Blaze started blushing again. "thank you."

And without fear for the consequences, Claire fell asleep still leaning on Blaze.

Blaze smiles, then picks Claire up and goes to her room, setting her down on her bed and covering her with her blankets. he sits on the floor, staring at the ground.

Eventually, Claire started talking in her sleep. At first they were just murmurs and sighs and mumbling, random words, until an actual coherent sentence came out.
"You need to stop it, Blaze."
(My dad says my mom talks in her sleep. So he talks back thinking she's awake and talking to him just with her eyes closed, but then she says something that makes absolutely no sense and then he realizes she's not actually talking to him, she's talking in her sleep.) -
Blaze looked up at Claire in surprise and confusion. "what? i'm looking at the floor-" he asks quietly.

"...making me feel weird...what to do about it..."

Blaze looks around in total confusion. "how am i making you feel weird by looking at the floor?"

"You have pretty eyes."

"uh... thank you?" Blaze says cautiously.

(I love how she basically said she has feelings for him and he's like, "I'm just staring at the floor?")
"Wonder what it would be like..." Claire said before rolling over. -
(he is oblivious rn lol)
is she asleep? he looks over at her again. apparently she is, and she's dreaming of talking to me. okay then. he turns back to the floor and zones out again. -
"Why do you do this to me..." was the last thing she said before she stopped talking.

Blaze smiles, rolling his eyes. i'd better ask her about this later if i remember
