"oh." was all Blaze said, a little confused as well.

Oh no he thought she was lying. "It's just... it's just that in my dream things were...a little different. So you may have made me feel weird in my dream but that doesn't necessarily mean you make me feel weird in real life."

"different... how?" he asks, a little curious.

I had courage, Claire thought, but she didn't say it out loud. "I don't quite remember," she said instead. "Probably just a few little things that turned into the butterfly effect or something."

"oh, okay then." Blaze says. he turns back to the movie, but sneaks glances at Claire every once in a while.

She had managed to get away with it.
But now she felt guilty for lying to him.
Well it wasn't a full-on lie.
A lie is still a lie.
But then he'd know the truth.
And why's that a bad thing?
Because he doesn't feel the same way. So if I told him it would ruin what we are already.
Don't you remember what his friends and Emma said?
Don't you remember what he said himself? He doesn't like me.
Claire battled with herself in her thoughts. She fazed out of the movie's plot, only watching for a few minutes at a time before her thoughts would suck her back in again.
Think about all the girls he's had in the past. The gorgeous girls who were confident enough in their bodies to wear tight dresses and flashy makeup. You're not that. He wouldn't go for you.
Eventually, the movie ended.
"What do you want to do now?" Claire asked. -
He knew something was up. but even if she told the truth, it still probably meant there wasn't anything between them. he didn't want to lose her as a friend, if they were friends already.
"how are you feeling? better?" he asks instead of answering. -
Claire nodded. "A lot better. I might end up taking tomorrow off too, depending on how a feel, though. Thank you for staying with me."

"if you don't go to school tomorrow i'm going to skip again. as i said, i needed an excuse to skip school." Blaze says, smiling.

"Why do you need a reason to skip school?" Claire asked. She shook her head. "That doesn't matter. What does matter is you need to not skip school. Education is important."

"for you, maybe. to me it isn't very important." Blaze puts his hands behind his head.

"How come?" Claire asked. She loved to learn, and school was a place to do just that.

"well, we don't really need most of the things we learn. like math. when are we going to use that?" he questions

"You use fractions for baking. You use basic algebra all the time. You use graphing in your head when you need to figure out the rate of something," Claire explained. "Plus, it helps you on a social standpoint as well. Maybe someone you know in the future loves math. It will help you connect with them and understand what you're talking about.
