"Why?" Claire said with a smile. "You scared?"

"no!" Blaze says quickly, the looks down, crosses his arms, and sighs. "maybe..." he mumbles. "but those bears are so big!"

"They don't bother you if you don't bother them," Claire said.

"true. they're still scary though..." Blaze says, still looking at the ground.

Now that she had eaten her food and the stress on her body of walking around and being mentally engaged in things, she felt exhausted.
"Don't worry," she said, leaning her head on her hand with a smile. "I'll protect you." -
"but i was going to protect you!" Blaze exclaims, putting a hand on his chest dramatically.

"It's about time I return the favor, don't you think?" Claire chuckled

"if you think you can." Blaze says, grinning

"Well not right now of course," Claire said, waving a weak hand around.

"of course not. right now, i'm protecting you from boredom!" Blaze exclaims, striking a superhero pose.

"My hero," Claire sarcastically said with a smile. She pointed at him. "Just you wait, someday I'm going to repay you for how kind you've been to me."

"i'm not being kind, just protective." Blaze sticks out his tongue at Claire.

"Why protective instead of kind?" Claire asked.

"because if i was kind people wouldn't think of me as the bad boy anymore." Blaze replies.

Claire chuckled. "Always have to keep your reputation in mind."
