“The cure?” Axel deadpanned, a blank expression on his face. “Why, there isn’t such a thing as a cure for Bloodmoon poison!”
-
Rasia ran a hand through her hair. What could they do?
She took quick stepps towards Skipper. She needed to talk to him before he died.
"How do we get Wermington out of Axel?" she asked. "Please, tell us, I don't want anymore people getting hurt." -
Skipper was clutching his stlmach, barely able to stutter his words out. There was white foam that dribbled down the edge of his mouth, and his gray eyes began to become glassy.
“The cure… the cure is held inside the gla…” Another fit of coughing followed. However, before Skipper could finish his last few words, his eyes glossed over, and his breathing ceased to come. -
"The gla... glass?" Rasia guessed, her eyes not able to move from the dead body in front of her.
-
“If glass was the key all along, then maybe I should go and find all those dead bodies I buried in your backyard.” Axel said, raising an eyebrow.
“You what?” Felix screeched, giving Axel’s shirt a light shake. -
"What does glass have to do with that?" Rasia asked.
-
“How do you suppose my victims died?” Axel said coldly, his voice laced with poison. He shot a glare at Rasia, and received one from Felix in turn. “A couple were from knives, others from guns, few with brute force, and many with glass.”
-
"I..." Rasia was at a loss for words. "I don't know. It's worth a shot."
-
“But what kind of glass?” Axel pushed. He was trying to hit as many buttons as he possibly could. “Glassy eyes, a glass pitcher, what?”
-
"Does it matter?" Rasia said. "We only have a portion of a word to go off if. We need to explore as many avenues as possible."
-
“Or we could give up?”
“Axel what-!” Felix’s eyes widened, his grip loosening. Axel grinned and shook away from Felix.
“After all, what good will it do anyway? A curse is a curse.” Axel said solemnly. He looked up at the ceiling and smiled bitterly. “At this point, you might as well consider me a dead man.” -
"But there's obviously a way to reverse it," Kenna said. "We just need to figure out what."
-
“Well, perhaps-?”
Suddenly, a loud crackling, booming sound made the room vibrate. It sounded like thunder, but it didn’t come from outside. It sounded as if it struck something within the room the trio were standing in.
Clapping. Someone was clapping their hands. And by the sound of their clapping, they sounded furious.
“Well, well, well, another pathetically planned murder attempt constructed by you. Should I start applauding, Axel?” A familiar voice sneered.
Both Axel and Felix whipped their heads around. Felix’s eyes were shot wide open, whilst Axel relaxed his body, looking disappointed.
“Oh, so you finally decided to stop playing the role of a victim. I wonder if you’ll start to show your true colors too, hm?” Axel retorted. He grinned and stared directly into the glassy, rage-filled dead eyes of Skipper. “Don’t think for one second I didn’t see through your act. Seriously, you’ve done this many times and yet it hasn’t worked once.” -
Rasia was shocked at first but then realized what happened. "Why did you give him the poison if you knew it wouldn't work?" she asked.
-
“I thought that adding a the deadliest poison known in the entire world would be enough to do the trick, but I suppose not.” Axel said, staring at Skipper in amusement.
“And because of your foolish thought, I’ll kill you all!” Skipper bellowed, electricity zapping on the tops of his fingertips.
