"I'm doing well," El responded. "Come on, we gotta go or we'll be late for class." -

Julian nodded. Their first class was together. -
It was Algebra. El sighed. She hated Algebra. But she began to walk to class anyway, knowing that there was no way around the class without her having to face trouble. She sat down in her seat in front of Julian.

Algebra was one of Julian's favorites. Everything fit together like a puzzle.

El had never understood how Julian did so well in Algebra. She zoned out for the entire class for an unknown reason and when the homework was assigned, she had no idea what was going on. “Ms. Dove, you’ll be paired with Mr. Rivers.”

Julian had never really enjoyed group work, but it might not be so bad doing it with El.

After class, El walked up to Julian. "So, do we wanna work on the project after school today?"

"Sure," Julian nodded. "My house or yours?"

"Yours please," El started. "If we go to mine, my mom won't leave us alone."

Julian chuckled. "Alright. Right after school?"

El nodded.
(time skip to after school)
El rode her bike over to Julian's house after school that day. She made it and knocked on the door, now waiting impatiently for an answer. Winter was still here, and it was fairly chilly outisde. -
"Hey," Julian said, opening the door. "Hurry in."
He led her into the kitchen. "Tea or cocoa?" -
"Tea, please," El said as she sat down in the dining room nearby.

"What kind?" Julian asked. "We have mint, chamomile, earl grey, chai, bengal, which tastes a lot like chai, cinnamon spice..." he started naming off the various types of tea they had in the house.

"I'll take chai please."
