C1 has a crush on C2's friend, so he asks C2 to date him to make C2's friend jealous. After some silly bribery C2 accepts. C1 had to bribe her because she didn't like doing something like this to her friend behind her back.
As time passes C1 loses feelings for the friend and starts gaining them for C2
Likewise, C2 starts gaining feelings for C1
Eventually it can only be described as love.
But neither of them wants to confess because neither of them thinks it will end well.
Until finally C1 does. -

"She's staring at you again," Julian said quietly to his friend Andrew. Andrew then glanced over Julian's shoulder to see Elizabeth staring straight at him.

It was lunch at school and Elizabeth was sitting at the table across from Julian and Andrew. Andrew. She couldn’t help but blush when thinking of him. Most of the times she subconsciously makes the decision to stare at him, and that’s what she did just now. She noticed that she was doing it when Julian saw her. She became flustered and quickly averted her icy blue gaze, staring down at her food.

"I wish she wouldn't," Andrew said quietly. "It's really distracting."
"C'mon, she likes you," Julian teased.
"Yeah, well, I'm not looking for a relationship." -
Elizabeth felt herself getting even hotter when she looked up and caught a glimpse of Julian and Andrew talking, presumably about her. And how she stared. How she always stared. She felt so stupid.

"I'm gonna go to the bathroom real quick," Andrew said, getting up from the table.

Elizabeth started to pick at her pasta. She never liked this food, so she never really ate lunch, as this was all they served. Then she glanced towards the table in front of her and saw Andrew get up. Oh no, her mind whispered. I messed up, didn’t I? I bet he thinks I’m a weirdo and is leaving so I won’t stare at him again.

A few minutes later Andrew returned. But just after that, the bell rang, signaling the end of lunch.
