"Surely there is something you want in return" he said, his tail twitching a little before he winced, clutching at his chest as he felt a wave of pain from his Core

"No, I don't. Although I wouldn't mind having a little company. It gets pretty lonely out here," Wren said, pushing back a short strand of blue hair before flinching when he winced. "Ouch. You okay?"

"Hurts" Sgrios whimpered out, his ears tilting back as the shackles glowed faintly

"How can I help the hurt to go away?" Wren asked, frowning as the shackles glowed almost menacingly.

"I dont know!" Sgrios said in distress

"Okay, I'm sorry! Just please, calm down," Wren said, wincing. "Try to relax. Deep breath on, deep breath out."

Sgrios tried to listen to her, drawing in jerky gasps of air as he tried to calm down

Wren tried not to look TOO concerned, biting her lip to keep apologies that would do no good from spilling out. "Better?"

Sgrios nodded after a few minutes, his ears drooping tiredly

"Are you hungry? I could fix something up," Wren suggested tentatively. She was one of those people that believed in the power of a good meal.

Sgrios seemed confused at that "whats Hungry mean?

Wren blinked at Sgrios, trying to comprehend this...person? Person thing. "You know, when you want to eat? Like, when you wanted water. That's being thirsty. Being hungry is when you want food. To...eat."
She had accidentally and singlehandedly explained being hungry in the most confusing manner she could manage. She now had a strong desire to melt through the floor. -
Sgrios stared in her direction, trying to understand what she said. "...i dont eat." He said eventually "i used to, but i stopped for a while and after that eating made me sick, so i just stopped permanently"

"Do you want more water? What...what do you want?" Wren suggested, leaning back on the couch and spreading her arms out wide in an expression of helplessness.
