"Be grateful. We're giving you enough respect and enough dignity to keep you in one piece, I'm sure by now you'd have your eyes gouged out and your tongue cut off by others," Julian said. He bent down and took a knife out to cut the bonds on the prince's feet. He grabbed Markus by the arm and started pulling him to the bathroom.

Markus asked "There are really people that mad at my father?" He then walked with Julian to the bathroom, walked in and closed the door.

"Ya think?" Julian said. "He's probably the only king that's raided his own people. Think of it as an exchange. Royals respect us, we respect them. They don't so we don't. I don't know what we did, but it's probably some personal reason."

How could this be? Markus thought. Why would my father decide to raid a city he rules over? Markus then said "So I guess I should count my blessings then?" He finished in the bathroom and came back out.

Julian took a length of rope and tied him up again. "You're understanding finally," he said. He led him to the couch again and bound his feet. -
Markus said "Yes I am. But I still don't like it."
(I feel like I should have Markus escape at some point and explore the city yo understand it better.) -
(That sounds good he could probably find a broken bottle or something to cut the ropes)
Erina knocked a guard out from behind and pinned the note on him. Then she was gone again, on her way back to the rift. -
(Yeah.)
The guards were all around, looking for Prince Markus, who disappeared last night chasing a thief that invaded the castle. One guard soon found the knocked out guard and the note she attached to him. He said "I understand not wanting to be seen but couldn't they have just left this note in the open instead." The guard picked up the other and took him to the med bay. He then walked to the king to show him the note. The king was too hungover to read it at the moment but someone else read it to him instead. -

It was straight to the point.
We have your son, the Crowned Prince. He will be returned to you unharmed for 850,000 frones (their currency). The meeting place for the exchange will be at the Rift Bridge. You will come there alone. Any attempt to attain him otherwise will result in your son's death.
And be glad we don't ask for more. We know what's in your treasury. -
The King was outraged. So outraged in fact that he semi-sobered up. He said "That thief took my son to Heikan? I'll have their head." The Duke said "My King we can't attack. You heard them, they'll kill your son." The king said "Then what? I'm not handing over 850,000 frones to some low rent thief." The Duke said "You won't have to. I have a plan." He then began to whisper a plan to him.

Erina entered Heikan. Hopefully they had gotten her note by now. She knew they'd try to come up with a way to get out of the ransom, but if they did she would kill him without a thought. -
(Let's make it about five days or something.)
Markus sat on a couch in the house, just completely bored and fed up with having to be tied to stay here. He looked around and saw near one wall, a broken bottle. He could use that to escape, but he'll have to do that later. For now he kept quiet.
