Vauras is the place with all the nobility, royalty, the rich and prosperous, it's the capital of the country of Allemyr. Its people are pompous and vain, caring only for themselves, caring only for how to gain. In the heart of the city is the worst of the lot. That is where the castle is, home to the highest of nobles, built by the sweat and blood of others.
There is a canyon, a rift that separates Vauras from Heikan. Heikan is the poorest part of Allemyr. They're left poor and starved by Vauras. They're seen as filthy, and wanted. Vauras constantly drains them of anything they have that could be of worth.
C1 is from Heikan. She is one of the best of thieves, one of the few that is able to jump across the rift between the two cities, if you could even call Heikan a city.
C2 is the Crowned Prince. He is exactly as you would expect someone from Vauras to be. Greedy, arrogant, you get the picture.
There's a gathering at the castle for the return of the Duke from the Great Wars. A party.
C1 crosses into Vauras and sneaks into the castle and into the Royal Treasury.
When C1 is escaping, C2 catches her doing it. He chases after C1, who eventually leaps back across the rift.
C2, in a burst of idiocy, jumps too. -
