Adrian looked at her. "He's going to use you as a weapon," he said. "Max will die."

"He's already dead Adrian! Maybe I can actually help him this time and bring him back to life!" she yelled.

"He's going to bring him back to life," Adrian said, "and then he's going to use to destroy the world, and with the world, Maz."

"I'll have to break the contract when he brings Max back to life then."

Adrian stared at her. He couldn't believe she was doing this. "Four awful weeks," Adrian said, "Once you start the undoing of the contract it's four horrible weeks before it's actually done."

"I'm fine with that, it'll be worth it when Max is alive." she said.

"Jewel, let's go back to the hotel," he said.

"No, I can't do that. I've probably hurt Kendril and Henry." she said. Jewel realized her ankle was feeling better, when Adrian wasn't looking, she planned to sneak away.

"Like I said, we'll get through this," Adrian said. "But why would you want to sneak away?"
