Adrian sighed. "Remember Jewel," he said. " I always love you."

Jewel never doubted that, but she felt guilty at what she had done.

Adrian took her by the shoulders and started walking towards the hotel

They walked inside to see Henry and Kendril.

"What happened?" Henry asked.
Adrian pointed upstairs, indicating that they'd talk about it in the hotel room, so the four of them went that direction. -
Jewel followed them to the hotel room. She wanted to make a run for it, but she knew it wouldn't work.

They walked into the room and the door was locked behind them. "What happened?" Henry asked again.

"Something."

Adrian sighed then said, "Jewel went to see her brother. She found them mailed by demons. I arrived soon after she did. We buried them next to the house."
"And now –," Adrian took a breath before saying," she made a deal with Lucifer " -
Jewel looked at the floor. "It was so that he could bring Max back to life, I didn't know what his side of the deal was." she said.

"He gets to control her," Adrian said.
"What?!" Kendril said. -
"I'm sorry." she whispered.

"We're getting you out of this," Henry said, a determined look on his face. "As soon as possible.

"But what about Max?" she asked.

"He's going to die again," Adrian said in a low voice. "Do you want him to wake up overjoyed to be alive again, just to die again sometime in the near future? And if we break the contract while he's alive, he dies."
