Jewel threw the door wide open. "You won't be protecting us like this, you'll only be hurting us more." she said quietly.

"And I don't want to be able to say that I've killed every single person.I've ever cared about," Adrian said. "It was Claire last time, I don't want it to be you the next.time, or anyone else."

"But you won't kill me! I can protect myself." she said. -
"Just last night I almost took your life," Adrian pointed out.

"But you didn't." she said.

"And it wasn't anything you did that stopped it," Adrian said.
"I'm the one that.Lucifer is going to want to invade the most. It's easier for him to do me, and I've always caused the most impact." -
"So you pick fear over love? I honestly thought I knew you better than that Adrian." Jewel said, blinking back tears.

"Jewel, I'd rather be sent to the fiery depths of Hell than see you dead," Adrian said.

"So. You would rather never see me again than see me dead." she whispered.

"Well either way, I'm probably going to end up dead!" she yelled.

Jewel caught her breath. "So, will you come with us?" she asked.
